The Foundation awarded three Postgraduate Scholarships for 2002-04 from October 2002. The recipients, who this year are by coincidence all female, are all carrying out research leading to PhD degrees in the universities from which they gained their first degrees.
Vikki Forsyth, a graduate in English from St Andrews University, is carrying out an historical survey of Arcadia in European literature
Lindsay Sugden, an Edinburgh University Geography graduate, is working on Tephra transport pathways in englacial and proglacial systems
Anne Tindley, also an Edinburgh graduate, is investigating the history of the Sutherland Estate (c1860-1920) in the Scottish History Department at Edinburgh University
