Three scholarships were awarded

 

Postgraduate Scholarships 2000

CRF awarded three Postgraduate Scholarships for 2000-2003 from October 2000. The recipients, who will all be spending these three years doing research leading to a PhD degree in the Scottish Universities from which they gained their first degrees are:


David Adamson, a former pupil of Malvern College, Worcestershire and graduate of St Andrews University, will be studying records on the use of insanity as a defence in law during the 18th century


Allan Whiteford, a former pupil of Cathkin High School, Glasgow and a Strathclyde University graduate, will be using stereoscopy and atomic modelling of heavy elements to investigate fusion technology


Andrew Midgley, a former pupil of Warbreck High School in Blackpool and a graduate of Edinburgh University, will be studying the conflicts between conservation and ecological knowledge in the Scottish Highlands.
