Research FellowshipsThe Foundation offers Personal Research Fellowships in the Biomedical Sciences.
These are awarded to well-qualified young academic staff to enable them to pursue a three-year programme of research in a Scottish higher education or research institution. The research must be in the biological, biochemical, physical or clinical sciences related to medicine and will normally be carried out on a full-time basis. Applications to work on a part-time basis will be considered in certain circumstances. Normally a maximum of two Personal Research Fellowships will be awarded each year.
Applications for the 2008 awards closed on 7th March 2008.

The Foundation does not discriminate on grounds of gender, ethnicity, nationality or disability. It seeks only to appoint to its Fellowships and Scholarships those individuals whose applications have achieved excellent rankings following peer review and who will benefit most from the awards. It does, however, require that Fellows and Scholars live and work in Scotland during their tenure of the Foundation's award - except where the award is specifically for, or incorporates an approved period of, work outwith Scotland.
